C.H.I.C.K. Day was successfully held on 1st of March 2016 at the Empire Hotel Subang. It was a full day seminar co-organized by Ceva Animal Health Malaysia and Agritech Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. Focusing on topics that relate to breeder and broiler production, the attendance was astounding as there were 90 participants coming from broiler farms, hatchery and breeder farms all over Malaysia. The seminar started off with a presentation by Prof Eddy Decuypere, a world authority in the field of incubation about how to assess chick quality. He then concluded that quantitative and qualitative scoring of chick quality could only partially predict the broiler farm performance. Pre-incubation, incubation and the intrinsic factors of the chicks are even more valuable predictors.

Following that, Dr Lee Jin Ee, Product & Technical Executive of Ceva Animal Health Malaysia shared with the audience the implications and dilemma of Infectious Bronchitis (IB)/IB variant in broiler production. Cevac IBird was promoted as the safe and efficacious solution against various strains of IB variant challenge with day old vaccination in broilers.
In the afternoon, C.H.I.C.K. program’s overview was presented by Dr Saw Ping Yee, Market Development Manager of Ceva Animal Health Malaysia. It is exclusively designed as a hatchery vaccination monitoring tool, complementing the hatchery equipment that Desvac has to offer. Lastly, it was Dr Roberto Soares, Asia Veterinary Services Manager of Ceva Animal Health Asia that provided the practical solution in managing sub-optimum quality chicks.

The question and answer session which lasted for more than an hour after that was exciting! Practical experience together with knowledge were shared by the panel of speakers, addressing the participants’ questions one by one. Three of the participants emerged as the lucky winners during the lucky draw, winning home a Fitbit watch, Papago car camera and a laptop bag each.

In the end, Dr Amanda Lim, Area Manager of Ceva Animal Health Asia Pacific made her intentions clear to the audience by saying: “Offering professionalism and solutions, we want to go beyond and become business partners with all of you, with an ever ready team at your service!”
