Cevac IBird Launch in Malaysia 2015

‘Healthy Chickens start from Hatchery with emphasis on Infectious Bronchitis Protection’ at the Empire Hotel, Subang on the 5th of February 2015

Ceva Animal Health Malaysia in collaboration with Malaysia’s sole distributor, Agritech Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. had recently organized a seminar entitled ‘Healthy Chickens start from Hatchery with emphasis on Infectious Bronchitis Protection’ at the Empire Hotel, Subang on the 5th of February 2015. The seminar was part of Ceva’s efforts to provide continuing education on poultry health which was held in conjunction with the launching of Cevac IBird, Ceva’s latest star product in Malaysia market.

Ceva’s Asia Zone Director, Mr Ruud Aerdts in his speech to officiate the event, emphasized on Ceva’s continuous approach to protect chickens starting from day old itself in accordance with the global trend of shifting vaccinations into the hatchery.

Our guest speaker Dr Sjaak De Wit, currently an Immunologist at GD, a Dutch Animal Health Service who is well known in the field of research, in particular on Infectious Bronchitis and Gumboro disease, had kick-started the event by sharing critical information on Infectious Bronchitis Disease and also its’ epidemiology worldwide situation. He spoke on the impact of IB virus in co infections with other pathogens which will exacerbate the losses due to the diseases, and the importance in controlling and protecting chickens against IB virus.

Dr Roberto Soares, Ceva Asia Technical Manager also shared how Infectious Bronchitis and its Variant strains are difficult to be diagnosed and often become an underestimated problem in the farms.

After understanding more about Infectious Bronchitis disease, in particular the IB Variant strain, Dr Pascal Paulet, Ceva Global Corporate Product Manager then presented the successful trials and safety experiments detailing the Cevac I Bird, posing a new hope as part of a solution for this economically important disease.

“Even with the best vaccines in the world, but with inefficient application techniques, successful optimum protection cannot be achieved” explained Dr Jessica Lee, Ceva Malaysia Product and Technical Manager while introducing a complete range and services that Ceva has to offer with its CSED (Customer Service and Equipment Department) in charge of the trusted C.H.I.C.K. program which has been instilled in more than 30 hatcheries in Malaysia. Notable innovation such as the recent online Ceva Apps which is used by Ceva’s technicians to perform auditing on hatchery vaccination practices can report and monitor progress in the C.H.I.C.K. program directly.

After an enthusiastic Question and Answer session with great participation from the big crowd of about 100 attendees, Dr Amanda Lim, Ceva Animal Health Area Manager, concluded the event with a resounding speech.
